Are you sick of feathers leaking from down fabrics? Looking for some simple solutions for down jacket repair? There’s two easy ways to go about making repairs to your favorite down garments:

Repair Patch Option #1:

1) Begin by cleaning the repair area with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt or body oils which may prevent a good bond. Trim any loose threads or feathers.

2) Apply a Tenacious Tape™ Mini repair patch  or a Tenacious Tape Gear Patch (just peel and stick) over the rip, tear or hole.

3) Smooth out any bubbles and ensure the edges lay flat. The adhesive will reach full strength after 24 hours.

Repair Adhesive Option #2:

1) Begin by cleaning the repair area with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt or body oils which may prevent a good bond. Trim any loose threads or feathers.

2) Apply a thin layer of Seam Grip® repair adhesive over the rip, tear or hole.

3) Allow 8-12 hours for the adhesive to cure.

We love it when our down jackets keep us warm and we hate it when they start leaking. Patching a down jacket doesn’t have to be difficult though. By following the 3 easy steps above, you can keep your down garments around for a while.
