Who we are
What’s our purpose?
Just when it feels like your outdoor gear is done for - a wetsuit torn after years of swells, a jacket ripped on a granite face, or a pair of fins worn down by salt and time - we’re here to bring it back to life. Whether you’re patching, sealing, or cleaning, we make it possible to keep your gear performing season after season.
At GEAR AID, we see failure as part of the journey. It’s a chance to reflect on where you’ve been and what your gear’s been through. That tear in your waders? It’s the memory of chasing trout in the Bighorn River. The rip on your tent? It’s proof you made it through that unexpected storm in Zion with nothing but grit and determination.
We’re here to help you extend the life of what you already own. Not just for the memories, but for the planet. That’s why we create products that empower you to repair and restore everything from outerwear to dive gear. Because the best gear, is the gear that keeps going.

Our Mission
Fueling our Future
We’re here to help people fix what’s broken, not throw it out.
From patching tears in jackets and tents to scrubbing mud and grime from hiking boots, our products are built to bring your favorite gear back to life. For us, we want to change how people think about ownership — repairing gear instead of replacing it. We believe in teaching the skills, providing the right tools, and building a culture that values repair as a first response, not a last resort. When people know how to care for their gear, they keep it longer and waste less.
Every small repair adds up. And the gear you keep in play tells the best stories.
Our Home
Bellingham, WA
Our headquarters is in Bellingham, Washington, located 52 miles south of Vancouver, Canada and 90 miles north of Seattle. Bellingham is a small town with big outdoor opportunities. Hiking the coast of Bellingham Bay, fishing at North Puget Sound, snowboarding down the white-capped Cascade mountains, and sailing around the San Juan islands are all a possibility right in our own backyard.
The Pacific Northwest is the perfect testing environment for all of our products. It’s where we can try out just how much rain our waterproofing tools can handle (about 36 inches annually!) and see how well our patches and seams can stand up to the unpredictable elements of the hiking trails.
Giving Back to GEAR AID's Partners
We believe that connection to the community is crucial, which is why we’re proud to not only sell products that adhere to our mission and our values, but also to partner with local organizations that work to make the outdoors a beautiful, inviting space for all. We pride ourselves on giving to organizations that tackle the complex issues of conservation, outdoor education, and equitable access to the outdoors — because we are passionate about the beauty and adventure the outdoors bring today and for years to come.
