How to Replace and Repair Felt Soles

Old felt soles can be replaced and new soles attached, with a little prep work and Aquaseal FD Repair Adhesive.

Prepare Soles

To attach new felt soles, remove old felt (if necessary). Lightly roughen rubber soles with sandpaper then wipe rubber soles with Aquaseal FD Cure Accelerator or isopropyl alcohol.

Attach Felt Sole to Boot

Apply Aquaseal FD to the outer edge of new felt soles and attach to the boot. Clamp in place and allow the adhesive to cure level for 8 to 12 hours.

How to Repair Felt Soles

To simply fix a peeling felt sole, just follow these basic steps:

1. Clean the boot and dry the peeling area.
