GEAR AID Expands Its Knife Collection with the Tanu

A burly, stainless-steel knife for rescue, dive and more

The Tanu Rescue and Dive Knife is the latest addition to the GEAR AID Adventure Tools collection. Designed for use in salt water, this blunt-tip knife features a 3” full tang, stainless-steel blade. Weighing under 5 oz, this lightweight knife is a useful cutting tool for rescue, paddling, dive, and fishing. The suggested retail price for the Tanu is $39.95. It’s also available as a kit that includes a B.C.D. Adaptor and accessories for easy attachment options to diving equipment (MSRP: $44.95).

Whether you’re paddling down the river or diving the deep ocean blue, the Tanu is designed with durability and versatility in mind. Use it in an around water for its sharp, 304 stainless-steel blade that resists corrosion. The burly, rubberized handle provides a secure grip with a finger stop for added safety during each use. With a smooth and serrated blade that’s ultra-sharp and a mountable sheath, the Tanu is handy as a rescue, paddle, dive, and fishing knife. When paired with the B.C.D. Adaptor Plate and accessories (sold separately as a kit), this knife can be mounted on virtually any brand of scuba gear for fast access underwater.

“Our goal was to design a knife that could withstand the rigors of saltwater sports,” says Ray Klein, GEAR AID design director. “The Tanu’s stainless-steel finish is corrosion-resistant and its multiple mounting features make mounting a cinch.”Available on gearaid.com and in select retailers this summer, this watersports knife comes with a gray or nav green handle. Whether paddling, fishing, or diving, be prepared to cut your way out of any situation with the GEAR AID Tanu blunt-tip knife on hand.
