Product Application

Clean damaged area with isopropyl alcohol.

Trim loose threads. Non-fabric surfaces should be roughened with sandpaper, then cleaned. Apply Aquaseal® to surfaces directly from tube or with knife or flat stick. Keep repair level overnight. Avoid contact with other surfaces.

Most repairs reach full strength overnight (10-14 hours). Allow longer for thicker repairs. For fastest cure (2 hours or less), mix in Cotol-240 (1 part Cotol-240 to 3-4 parts Aquaseal).

HOLES AND TEARS: Create backing with removable tape or Tenacious Tape. Fill void and 1/4" beyond edge with Aquaseal. Remove tape after full cure if desired.

SEAMS: Apply 1/16" thick bead overlapping seams edges by at least 1/4". Apply with slight pressure to saturate fabric surfaces.

HIGH WEAR AREAS: Apply thin coat with brush for flexible abrasion resistance.

STORAGE: Advance contents to tube neck. Wipe clean and cap. Keep in cool, dry place. For extended life, place in a ziplock bag and place in the freezer. To thaw or for easier-flowing contents, soak tube in warm water for 15 minutes.

When applied to clothing our adhesives are permanent and cannot be removed

You can color Aquaseal using Ceramic pigment found at most craft stores.  Just mix it directly into the Aquaseal.

Once cured Aquaseal is inert.

How to Remove Adhesives from Hands or Clothes?

Aquaseal will flake away naturally off your hands in a few days.  You can help this process somewhat by washing your hands with soap and water and using a disposable shop rag to remove as much of the adhesive as possible. We do not recommend using any type of solvent on your skin. When applied to clothing these adhesives are permanent.

When Using Aquaseal & Black Colorant

Apply 8-10 drops per 1/4 oz. (7ml) of adhesive. Use brush or stick to mix well. Apply as directed above.

Frequently Asked Questions about Using Colorant

Can you use Color Sync with any other adhesives? Color Sync can be used with Freesole, Aquaseal and Seam Grip

Is Aquaseal with colorant stronger or less strong than just plain Aquaseal Clear? There is no change when colorant is added

Will the color fade or yellow over time? This is a pigment and gives the Aquaseal protection from yellowing. The pigment will not fade

Does the colorant affect the self-leveling properties of the Aquaseal? No

Care Instructions

Once opened, store unused tube as follows: Begin by advancing the contents to the tube neck to remove any air that may be trapped in the tube. Next wipe the tube threads clean to prevent the cap from sticking. Next, cap tightly. Next, place the adhesive in a plastic zip-lock bag. Next, store the adhesive in a dry environment like your freezer. When ready to use, run the tube under warm water for about a minute.

Store Color Sync tube out of direct sunlight.

What to do I do if Aquaseal is Not Dry and Sticking to Itself?
